Oklahoma:
How Far To Olmstead Compliance?
Oklahoma has had probably more experience than most states with some form of Olmstead Statute.
It has had a Statute authorizing an Olmstead Strategic Planning Committee. In 2017, the Oklahoma Legislature tried to beef that up considerably in several ways, including trying to enlist the Office of the Oklahoma Attorney General to ensure compliance with Title II of the Americans with Disabilities Act, and renaming the group the Oklahoma Independence and Ability Committee. Gov. Fallin vetoed the measure in June 2017.
