How Far To Olmstead Compliance?

West Virginia's Olmstead Plan

​This is very interesting in that the West Virginia Olmstead Office is housed within the West Virginia Office of Inspector General and West Virginia has had a number of Olmstead Lawsuits.
​      Their 119-Page Plan was the result of executive order -- It is not quite as compliant with specific measurable goals as Minnesota's Plan is and it probably came out before Minnesota's Court Ordered Plan came out.  We would rank it #2 after Minnesota of the plans we have reviewed.

West Virginia Department of Health and Human Resources | (PDF) – On June 1, 2015, the United States sent its findings to the state stating it violates the Americans with Disabilities Act and Olmstead v. L.C. by failing to deliver mental health services to children who rely on publicly funded care in the most integrated settings appropriate. 

Children in West Virginia experience high levels of institutionalization per capita and are unable to access mental health services in their homes and communities.
